Member, Harford County, Aberdeen and Havre de Grace Chambers of Commerce; Route 40 Business Association. Board of Directors, Salvation Army of Harford County, 1986-2008; Harford County Housing, Inc., 1992-2008; Mason-Dixon Business Association, 1993-2008. Man of the Year, Knights of Columbus, 1990. Member, Harford Christian Foundation; Fawn Grove Church of the Nazarene. Married; four children; six grandchildren. Died in Street, Maryland, January 24, 2008.
The Senator Bob Hooper House at 2007 Klein Plaza Drive, Forest Hill, Maryland, was Harford County's first residential hospice. Under University of Maryland Upper Chesapeake Health, the House was named for Senator Hooper in 2011.
