The Maryland Home-Ownership Preservation Task Force was formed by the Governor in June 2007. To protect home owners from foreclosure and predatory lending schemes, the Task Force collected and analyzed data on home ownership in Maryland; identified available financial resources and developed a list for home owners of such financial resources and programs to prevent foreclosures; and recommended to home owners current outreach, counseling and educational programs to forestall foreclosures. The Task Force also reviewed the State's current laws and regulations and recommended needed changes.

The Task Force reported to the Governor on November 29, 2007.
