In June 2013, the Task Force to Study Energy Generation in Prince George's County was authorized (Chapter 668, Acts of 2013).

The Task Force is to determine whether energy generation in the County is meeting current and projected needs. Also, the Task Force will make recommendations on increasing energy generation; what forms of energy to generate; and appropriate locations in the County for energy generation.

The Task Force submitted its report in May 2014.

Authorization for the Task Force ended May 31, 2014.
