ALFRED T. TRUITT, JR. (1927-2015)
Chief Judge and Circuit Administrative Judge, Wicomico County Circuit Court, 1st Judicial Circuit, 1990-97 (Associate Judge, 1977-90). Retired 1997. Chair, Executive Committee, Maryland Judicial Conference, 1985-86.

State's Attorney, Wicomico County, 1959-71. Public Defender, Wicomico County, 1972-77.

Born in Salisbury, Maryland, April 5, 1927. Attended Salisbury Teacher's elementary school, Salisbury, Maryland; Wicomico High School, Salisbury, Maryland; Western Maryland College, A.B., 1950; University of Maryland School of Law, J.D., 1953. Served in U.S. Army Signal Corps (sergeant), 1945-1946 (as an Army photographer assigned to Nuremberg trials). Admitted to Maryland Bar, 1952. Member, Maryland State Bar Association; Wicomico County Bar Association; Maryland State's Attorneys' Association. Member, Salisbury Elks Club; Salisbury Lions Club; Green Hill Yacht and County Club. Widower; five children, eighteen grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren. Died in Salisbury, Maryland, June 5, 2015.


In September 1993, the Law Library at the Wicomico County Courthouse was dedicated to and named for Judge Truitt.
