Attended Baltimore County public schools; Gilman School, Baltimore, Maryland; The Johns Hopkins University, B.A., 1979; University of Baltimore School of Law, J.D., 1982. Admitted to Maryland Bar, 1982; Bar of U.S. District Court and U.S. Court of Appeals; Bar of U.S. Supreme Court. Attorney. Member, Maryland State Bar Association; Baltimore County Bar Association. Member, Baltimore County Democratic Central Committee, 1982-86, 1990-94, 1994-98 (chair, 1992-94). President, Board of Directors, Maryland Association of Counties, 2016-17 (member, 1994-18; board of directors, 2011-18; legislative committee, 2011-18; tax subcommittee, 2011-18; secretary, 2015; 2nd vice-president, 2016). Board of Directors, Economic Alliance of Greater Baltimore, 2010-18. Delegate, Democratic Party National Convention, 2012. Past president, Safety First Club of Maryland. Person of the Year, Pikesville Chamber of Commerce, 1995. Outstanding Councilman Honoree, First Step, 1999. Fedder Award of Excellence, Pikesville Chamber of Commerce, 2000. Married; two children. Died in Towson, Maryland, May 10, 2018.


To honor the late County Executive, the Kevin Kamenetz Arena at the Baltimore County Center for Maryland Agriculture and Farm Park in Cockeysville was dedicated on May 20, 2018.
