Delegate, Maryland Constitutional Convention, 1967-68. Member, Washington Suburban Transit Commission, 1967-70 (past chair). Board of Directors, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, 1969-70 (past chair). Member, Citizens Advisory Board, Springfield Hospital Center, 1999-2003.

Legislative assistant to U.S. Senator Richard Nixon of California. Administrative assistant to U.S. Senator William Knowland of California. Consultant to U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee; U.S. Department of Transportation. Assistant Administrator, National Aeronautic and Space Administration (NASA). Deputy Chief Administrative Judge, Nuclear Regulatory Commission.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, October 14, 1921. Attended Cathedral Latin High School, Cleveland, Ohio. Served in U.S. Army (staff sergeant), 1941-45. Georgetown University, B.A.; Georgetown University Law Center, J.D., with honors, 1950. Admitted to Maryland Bar, 1950. Attorney. Instructor, Institute of Politics, John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, 1979. Married; six children, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren. Died in Silver Spring, Maryland, September 14, 2008.
