Born in Shenandoah, Virginia, 1931. Attended Anacostia High School, Washington, D.C. (class valedictorian); Georgetown University, B.S. (accounting & finance), cum laude, 1952; Georgetown University Law Center, J.D., 1955, L.L.M. (tax law), 1959. Served in Counter Intelligence Corps, U.S. Army; District of Columbia Air National Guard Reserve (legal officer, air force judge advocate general's office). Attorney. Member, Washington, DC, Bar Association. Former corporate secretary and vice-president, Marriott. Co-founder, Century National Bank. Member, Maryland Association of the Judges of the Orphans' Court. Adjunct professor (accounting & business law), Prince George's Community College and George Washington University. Member, Washington District Football Officials Association (high school football referee). Married; five children, eleven grandchildren. Died in Green Cove Springs, Florida, October 15, 2011.
