President, Southern Maryland Volunteer Firemen's Association, 1995. President, Maryland State Firemen's Association, 2001-02 (executive committee, 1998-99). Vice-President, Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department (chaplain, past president, past chief). Member, Hollywood Optimist Club; Knights of Columbus at St. John's Catholic Church, Hollywood, Maryland. Hall of Fame, Maryland State Firemen's Association, 1996. Married to Catherine Anne, who died July 1, 2010; three children, five grandchildren. Died in Leonardtown, Maryland, January 16, 2012.
