BUILDING & PLUMBING CODE APPEALS BOARD

Authorized by the Board of County Commissioners in December 1998, the Building and Plumbing Code Appeals Board hears disputes regarding conduct of licensed contractors or quality of construction and plumbing work performed in the County. The Board hears any allegation regarding a breach of federal or State building law, or the County’s livability code.

The Board consists of seven members who are appointed by Board of County Commissioners to three-year terms.


BOARD OF LICENSE COMMISSIONERS

The Board of License Commissioners regulates the retail sale of alcoholic beverages in Somerset County (Code Alcoholic Beverages Article, secs. 29-101 through 29-2802).

In Somerset County, the Board's three members are appointed by the Governor with Senate consent to two-year terms (Code Alcoholic Beverages Article, secs. 29-101 through 29-205).


LIQUOR CONTROL BOARD

The Liquor Control Board establishes and maintains stores known as County liquor dispensaries for the sale of sparkling or fortified wine and other alcoholic beverages in sealed packages or containers (Code Alcoholic Beverages Article, secs. 29-301 through 29-311).

Appointed by the Governor, the Board consists of three members who serve four-year terms (Code Alcoholic Beverages Article, secs. 29-301 through 29-305).
