Washington County Economic Development Commission originated as Hagerstown-Washington County Economic Development Commission, and adopted its present name in July 2014.
Goal of Commission was to attract new businesses, and assist in retention and growth of existing businesses. It coordinated its work with public, private and nonprofit agencies to provide resources for businesses in County (County Code, sec. 1-606).
Disbanded in Sept. 2018 and reformed as Washington County Economic Development Coalition.
